It is necessary to realize that there is a great deal of anger in children and especially when it comes to boys that are in the single parents situation. Thomas seems to be fighting for control and often is in a rage. The solution to this maelstrom is to become the rock of the child. The first step that a step mom should make is to be the rock of the world in the world. There is a need at this time to ensure that there is no hate that is shown towards the child, but rather the emotion that should be shown is only love (Hayman, 2008). As a single mother, there is a need to absorb this anger, and this is no matter the challenge. Further, it is critical to seek support group that can help during this challenging time (Hayman, 2008).
At this time, the troubled child needs firm rules and natural consequences. It is critical to note that during a calm moment, the single mother should set ground rules such as no ugly language as well as no name calling. Further, there is a need to explain that the breaking of the rules will have several consequences, and one should explain what the consequences are.

In conclusion, as a step mother it is important to understand that although the fights are draining, one needs to have energy and reinforcement. There is a need not to roll over the assault, but rather, let the child blow until he is winded and hand out the consequences (Hayman, 2008). There is always light at the end of the tunnel, and one should always remind himself that after the choppy waters, the anger will eventually subside, and there will be a bright and invigorated young man.

Parents have a crucial role during a child’s development process. Difference in parenting styles have lasting effects on the development process of children. Aspects of development, cognitive, social and emotional, have a reliance on the initial development attachment between children and their parents (Krause, 2009). Translate of different parenting styles contributes to variance in students’ abilities, such as behavior, self-esteem, emotional maturity, and academic abilities. Poor parenting styles are prone to contributing to massive adolescent challenges experienced during the development process. The attachment theory of development, focused on the initial relationships developed between parents and their kids, define the impacts of parenting styles on adolescent behaviors (Heard, 2012).
Parenting styles commonly used while establishing initial bonds differ based on the parent’s ability to respond to the child’s demands. Parental responsiveness, characterized by parent’s ability to respond to the evolving needs of the child (Krause, 2009). While developing strong initial bonds between parents and their kids, parent’s availability to the child is crucial. It is unlike the parental demanding style focused on setting rules and standards followed by the children.
Overall, authoritative parents present outcome on children. Children develop high levels of confidence, social skills and academic achievement. Similarly, these children develop abilities of adapting to different environments in life. More so, children from permissive parents, during their adolescence life, they lack their self-discipline and ability to stand bad influences from their peers (Heard, 2012).
Despite the great role played by the parenting styles on the development of different levels of skills, peers as well influence their parents on the styles adopted. During adolescent periods, children spend more of their time with peers than with their parents (Krause, 2009). Conversely, the degree of parent’s role in peers remains as a great concern among many researchers (Heard, 2012). Placing children in positive peers and selecting environments for the children can aid in increasing their influence during the development process. Similarly, using passive peer affiliation groups can as well aid while controlling the development process of the adolescents.

The issue of Planned Parenthood can be described as one of the major issues in healthcare in the United States in the 21st century. There have been different and diverse opinions regarding this sensitive matter (United States., Nadel & Forbes, 2012). There are those that argue that Planned Parenthood is a moral issue, but it is not a legal one, whereas others argue that indeed the issue is both a legal and moral one. Planned Parenthood often involves health screenings, contraception as well as the performance of abortions. This therein lies the controversy in the healthcare law (Fletcher & Nonprofit Sector Research Fund, 2010).
Planned Parenthood is extremely important in today’s society, and this is because there is a need for families to ensure that they understand how they are going to form their families and how many children they want. Therefore, denying funding for Planned Parenthood will bring cause a major problem, in that women will not have the fundamental right to make the decision on what happens to their bodies (Fletcher & Nonprofit Sector Research Fund, 2010). As a nurse, I believe that indeed it is not the responsibility of the state to determine what a woman does with her body in a reproductive sense.
Further, there is a need to provide adequate reproductive care to women for them to contribute positively to the society (United States, 2011). Therefore, in this regard, I believe that funding should be increased for parenthood to make sure that women choose their path in terms of reproductive health. Therefore, the firestorm that exists regarding Planned Parenthood should consider the rights of women, and although there is a need to take steps to limit the number of abortions, it is important not to deny women their fundamental right to choose what happens to their bodies.
